Our Clinicians offer the full range of safe and effective earcare techniques for wax removal including Microsuction, Irrigation and Dry Tools. Microsuction is the gold standard of wax removal. Earwax removal is a treatment where the clinician removes earwax using a suction device whilst looking into your ear with an Endoscope which offers a clear view of the ear canal making it easier to remove earwax.

In most cases it takes up to 15 minutes to perform microsuction on both ears. It is very important to sit as still as you can during the procedure.

Ear microsuction is the safest and most effective procedure for examination and treatment of the ear when performed by experienced and well-trained clinicians.

If microsuction is performed by an experienced clinician, the procedure is unlikely to be painful. The main issue that the patients notice is the sound of the suction probe which is reasonably quick to become accustomed to. We use extra fine tips for suction of wax very close to the drum, in order to avoid excessive exposure to suction noise.

It is highly recommended you use Olive Oil Ear Drops at least 3 days prior to an earwax removal appointment. We advise that you dispense 2/3 drops/squirts in the affected ear(s) to ease the wax removal process. We recommend the Earol Olive Oil which is available to purchase at most pharmacies over the counter.
